You’re invited to a Virtual Prayer Walk in Bang Khun Thian,Bangkok, Thailand!
Join us this coming Monday evening, March 28, at 8:00 PM EDT, as we pray for and “walk” through the streets of Bang Khun Thian.
Bang Khun Thian is the southernmost district of Bangkok, Thailand’s capital city, and it is the city’s only district to border the sea. Bang Khun Thian has around 182,000 residents, and of these the majority of people are fishermen or farmers of fish, crustaceans, or aquatic plants. (1)
So why are we praying for Bang Khun Thian?
Like many places in Thailand, Bang Khun Thian has no Seventh-Day Adventist presence. No church, no company, no missionary, and very few Christians of any denomination (in this case less than 0.5%). This means the people there have very limited opportunity to hear the Gospel let alone make a decision to follow Christ. How do we fix that? The most powerful step we can take is to pray. We have seen that when we pray, God moves in mighty ways.
Why a prayer walk though? Because when we see a place for ourselves, we start to build a personal connection with it, and our prayers become more fervent. Since we can’t all go to Thailand to pray, a virtual prayer walk is our way of bringing Thailand to us.
We have already done prayer walks in Sukhothai, Nakhon Sawan, and Kantharalak. We have seen God move in surprising and powerful ways so that now there is/will be an Adventist presence where before there was none. He has brought the Norton family to Sukhothai and Jonathan and Hannah Hill to Nakhon Sawan, and the España family is on their way to Kantharalak. We look forward to what God will do in Bang Khun Thian.
