“Jesus was Asian” TV series for Thailand

The Thai people have a strong sense that Christianity is a religion for Westerners, not for Asians. But Israel is part of Asia! If they knew Jesus lived in Asia, and if they knew His character, many would accept Him as their personal savior.

We are planning a trip to Israel this summer to film a Thai Adventist Pastor who was converted from Buddhism through reading the Desire of Ages. We will film him telling about the life of Christ in Thai in various places in Israel, at the sights of Jesus’ most famous miracles and teachings. We will then edit the footage into a series of TV programs for Thai television and Hope Channel SE Asia.

Your support will plant seeds in a unique way for millions.

    Bible Worker

    Bible Workers: All

Bible Workers are one of the most cost effective ways to truly grow the Kingdom of God. They are the voice, the face, the presence of the word of God, going door to door, meeting people, praying for them, teaching them the Bible and to look to the Heavenly Father for blessings and hope and eternal life. They already speak the language and understand the culture. They don’t need a plane ticket to get there.

Jesus for Asia has Bible workers in several countries. This fund covers wherever they may be.

    Bible Workers for Punjab

Jesus for Asia is working with the North India Section to send Bible workers into four un-entered districts of the Indian state of Punjab. Currently there are no believers in this wide open field. These Bible workers will move into new cities and share Jesus with these communities through prayer, visitation, and acts of service.

Due to the extra cost of moving and starting new work, we will need to provide extra costs for them. So we are praying for $150/month. We’re also praying for 20 Bible workers (not too many for the several million people down there, spread between hundreds of cities, towns and villages). Our goal of $36,000 is their first year’s salary and ministry expenses.

    Erode Evangelism

There are 10 churches in Erode, India that have been neglected for many years. Currently the local church leadership is trying to revive them. They’ve invited us to come and help them by putting on evangelistic series in each of these churches. This fund is for the costs associated with the evangelism series including buying microphones, speakers, Bibles, chairs, projectors (which will continue to be of service at the church after we leave), and miscellaneous expenses that may crop up during the meetings.

    Erode Evening Schools

We are taking 10 teams for evangelism in 10 villages in South India in January, 2020. We want to open an evening school at each of the churches we hold a series at. Here are some statistics of the kids’ lives currently:

    • • 30-100 children live in each village.
    • • 70% or more of adults are illiterate in most villages. Some villages are completely illiterate.
    • • Most Adults are farmers or day laborers.
    • • Most children receive one meal at school, and sometimes a second small meal at home.

Each school costs about $450 to start the school and about $250 per month to keep it going. Opening includes purchasing plates and bowls and silverware and a stove and cookware. Ongoing expenses include the food and salaries for the principle, teacher, and cook.

These schools are long-term evangelism, with Christ being shown day in and day out.

Any donations exceeding start up cost will be used for their monthly expenses.

    Bible Worker Training

Many of our Bible Workers in India have very little formal education and not even much Bible training. They have a love for God and know His voice and spend a lot of time in the Bible, but with so few pastors compared to the need these simple but wonderful workers are often shouldered with the responsibility of caring for a church, sometimes two or three churches. They need training where they can sharpen their skills in studying the Bible and sharing the Gospel. This fund will help facilitate the upbuilding of the Church through training our Jesus for Asia Bible Workers.

Cambodia Boarding Academy – the Howell Family

The Lord has been calling Lloyd and Natalie Howell, along with their daughters Danielle and Alysa, to the mission field for several years. After attending FaithCamp East in 2018, the Howells could no longer ignore that call. They will soon be transitioning into the mission field. They will be working with Miranda Lundby and the Cambodia Adventist Mission to help start an Adventist boarding academy, a desperate need for the fledgeling church. They are asking for your prayers and financial support as they answer the call to serve their Master.

    Bangkok Outreach – Woodwards

The Woodward family went to FaithCamp in October 2018, and their eyes were opened to the great need in Southeast Asia. They were shocked to learn that many people there have never even heard the name of Jesus. They felt called as a family to sell all and Follow Him. The Woodwards, Mark and Candace, and their two sons Matthew and Ethan, will begin their missionary journey in November when they will be moving to Bangkok, Thailand for language study. They desire to share the love of Jesus with the people of Thailand.

    Thailand Media Team

Thailand is a least-reached country, with very few spiritual resources available to the believer. No Thai Adventist TV channels, and very few Ellen White books in Thai. In fact, in 2011, there were no EGW books available in country in Thai. Our JFA Thailand Media Team (part of Love for Asia) is recording sermons in Thai and translating SOP books (including Our High Calling and The Desire of Ages) into Thai for the upbuilding of the church and the proclamation of the Gospel. We also operate a production truck that can film and live stream church services from any part of Thailand.

    Sukhotai Project – Norton Family

There are hundreds of cities and towns in Asia where there is no Adventist congregation, not even a believing member. The Norton family is preparing to step into a place like this in Thailand. Their first stop is projected to be Chiang Mai for language study before moving on to Sukhothai to bring the living gospel to the precious people of that place.

    Bicycles for Bible Workers

Many of our Bible workers, especially in the North, find transportation extremely difficult due to the high cost and irregular public transportation in the rural districts. Bicycles are an economical way to give them more reach, more power for the Gospel. Each bicycle costs approximately $100.

    India TV Ministry

If our JFA Bible workers are our ground force, television is our Air Force. It has proved to be a powerful tool to reach into people’s homes and introduce Jesus to them. We are currently airing a weekly program on a popular channel and our Bible workers are conducting over 170 Bible studies a week!

This monthly bill includes shooting, editing, and the cost to air these shows.

    Literature for Bible Workers

Very few Bible workers, and even pastors, in India and other countries have any Spirit of Prophecy books to read for themselves and share with their church members, so they are missing out on a lot of spiritual blessings.
This fund will allow us to place these much needed books of insight and guidance into many hands to help uplift the church and point many to Christ.

    FaithCamp

FaithCamp is where the Great Commission is embraced, and encouraged. It is where you can hear the experiences of missionaries and mission advocates, and get inspired to be involved in God’s work; a launching pad. There have been more than 25 FaithCamps held in 5 countries, with many people sent into full time mission service as a result! Your donation will help support and promote these events, and open the doors for more!

    Sowing in Thailand

Jim Hill was given a call in 2011 to help with gardens/agriculture at a mission school in Thailand. Since then that door has closed. After three visits to Thailand, Jim and Irene’s hearts are burdened with the spiritual needs there. They plan to leave for Thailand soon and spend time learning the Thai language, probably in Bangkok. They are trusting that God will reveal His will as they move forward in this venture to sow the seed of truth in the hearts of the people in Thailand.
For both Jim and Irene to attend 6 months of language school tuition will cost about $3500, including housing.

    SUD Mission Projects

    Southern Asia Division Mission Projects

We have a dream of several small “Lifestyle Community Centers” in every large city in India. These centers will be places where people can come to mingle and learn, to be inspired and discipled for Jesus. Another mission project is to train “Lifestyle Coaches” to lead the ministry in these Community Lifestyle Centers. These are just two of the Southern Asia Division’s Mission projects that we are hosting. Others include: hospital and church renovations and assisting students to attend SDA schools. Please note where you would like your donation used.
