Blankets for Bangladesh
It gets cold in some parts of Asia, like Bangladesh, but they don’t have heaters in their homes and with limited firewood and fuel many suffer deeply through the cold months. Your donation will not only warm a body but a heart as it comes from our Adventist Bible Workers who also give the Gospel with the blanket.
Each one costs less than $4.00 for a good warm blanket.
Love for Asia Foundation – Thailand
Love for Asia Foundation is Jesus for Asia’s organizational presence in Thailand that provides the legal means for our missionaries to stay and work in the country. God raised up this foundation at just the time that it was needed, otherwise many missionaries and their families would have had to return home.
Chambur Church Rebuild and Health Center – Mumbai
This building is in such bad repair that the city of Mumbai condemned it and closed it for public use 9 years ago. It was a major church in Mumbai, having Bible Workers and pastor accommodations. But, due to financial constraints, the church has not been able to rebuild. We are envisioning a 3 story building with a center of influence/clinic on the ground floor, larger church hall on the second floor, and living/guest quarters on the top floor. All the donations that aren’t used at Sathe Nagar, will be put towards rebuilding the Chamber church!
Sathe Nagar Slum Church – Mumbai
The slums of Mumbai are the largest in Asia and we have had several Bible Workers working there for a number of years. Sathe Nagar has over 100 believers, but they do not have a church. They have been renting different churches for a while, and have been trying to raise money to build a new church for 6 years. It would cost about $20,000-$25,000 to build them a church, and it would be a great blessing to this vibrant community of believers.
2 Riot-Damaged Churches
Odisha, India. Riots broke out in 2008 and many Christian churches were damaged. Two of them were Adventist churches. This one is the worst damaged and has never been rebuilt. The second is almost as damaged. The local members are clinging to faith and begging for prayer and new churches. We have a JFA Bible Worker in the area doing the ground work, but the communities are very poor with most barely able to survive. But right now, with the churches in this condition, it’s just a reminder of the violence that took place over a decade ago. We would like to help rebuild both churches for the surviving members and to be beacons of light for the community.
11 Typhoon-Damaged Churches
Odisha, India. A major Typhoon came through and blew off the roofs of 11 churches. Now they are semi-functional or completely non-functional depending on how much of the roof is still in tact. They desperately need our help as these churches service poor communities.
All 11 churches will only cost $14,000 to repair! That’s an average of just $1,273/church.
Jesus4SlumKids – Bauder
Josh and Chitlada Bauder began their ministry in the On Nut 49 Slum area of Bangkok. They found sponsorship for 2 kids to go to Chiang Mai Adventist Academy in the north but then realized the kids need parents! So they moved to the north to provide a home atmosphere for them. Since then 6 more kids have joined their growing family, along with their own newborn baby girl. They have outgrown their house and now are praying for funds to build a new one, as well as provide sponsorship for more children (currently there are requests for 15 more children to join them).
Wat Preah Yesu (Tim and Wendy Maddocks) is located in one of the most touristed spots in Asia. God gave Tim a vision to build a Butterfly aviary to be a compelling witness to the tourists that come from many countries all around the world. Instead of selling the property for millions, they are building it into a witnessing tool for Christ.
Gayle’s Jungle Mission
Gayle had committed to a three-month stay in Thailand in 2009, but fell in love with the Karen people, and could no longer see a life for herself in the USA. Her ministry is medical, which in-turn results in Bible studies with the people. Gayle is an exciting, passionate missionary who loves her work! She currently runs a clinic up in the mountain jungles of northern Thailand, but travels around to the villages around offering not just medical help, but spiritual as well.
Sharon Family Projects
Leroy and Lisa Sharon are missionaries to Thailand. Lisa is currently raising 4 young girls for the Lord. This focus has turned out to be the best witness to the local village which has never seen a Christian before. Leroy is traveling to local villages and schools and connecting people with the Savior through language teaching using Bible stories. Interest is growing rapidly in the Gospel and there is a call developing for a Bible School to be established in the area.
