Why Walk Around Jericho?
Many around the world do not know the Living God. We may not know the best way to reach them, but God does. Jesus said, “God is spirit” (John 4:24). So, we should use spiritual tools to reach our spiritual objective of introducing people to Christ. Prayer is a major spiritual tool!
In the Bible, particularly in the Old Testament, the act of walking through the land serves as a symbolic way of claiming possession or signifying ownership, often in the context of inheriting a promised territory.
God instructed Abraham to "Arise, walk through the land in its length and in its breadth; for I will give it to you" Genesis 13:17. By walking the land, Abram was symbolically claiming it, demonstrating faith in God's faithfulness to fulfill His word.
In Joshua 1:3, God reiterated the idea of walking as a means of claiming the promised land, telling Joshua, "I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I promised Moses".
By Prayer Walking the city streets of unreached regions, we take action upon God’s promises and claim these lands for His Kingdom. We make way for the Spirit of God to enter and dispel evil and darkness.
Ask of me, and I will give thee the nations for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession. Psalm 2:8
