Blessings from 2022 FaithCamps!

“What would you say is the first step for someone who has realized that they might be Laodicean?” A FaithCamp 2022 attendee asked.

After more than 10,000 miles and two months of traveling, our 2022 FaithCamps are all finished.

This year was our first experience doing nine events (plus a bonus event) in one summer, and all but two were at brand-new locations. We did not know what to expect from these events, but we can confidently say that God was present at each one, whether long or short!

He answered our prayers and brought exactly the attendees who needed to come.

As a result of FaithCamp, some people expressed interest in supporting missions or becoming missionaries themselves. Most importantly, God inspired and convicted people, like the one who asked the above question, to seek a closer relationship with God, trust Him more, and pray for His will to be done in their lives.

Miracle after Miracle

God protected and guided us throughout this summer in some pretty amazing ways. Here are just a few examples:

  • God brought six (used) vehicles and two trailers across the country and back without any accidents or major breakdowns. (Read about “The Tengkanos’ Dangerous Escape” here.)

  • In answer to prayer, He stopped a hailstorm and gave us other breaks in dangerous weather so we could drive safely.

  • We found out that a woman started to pray for a FaithCamp in her area, and God inspired a church leader to invite us there.

  • The AC broke at the church in Fresno two weeks before FaithCamp. The expected temperature that weekend was 107º. The repairmen finally fixed the AC at noon on the day FaithCamp started.

  • He brought several families to FaithCamps (some from far away) who had been praying for God to lead them in their lives and inspired them at FaithCamp to consider mission work.

Testimony from FaithCamp

Jon and Natalie Wood met one man at FaithCamp Fresno who, three weeks before, had never heard of Jesus for Asia. One day, the word missions randomly popped into his head. He wondered why but later forgot all about it. A couple of days later, he was updating an Adventist media app and noticed that one of the available channels was MissionTV (which is run by Jesus for Asia). He spent the next two weeks watching presentations from our other recent FaithCamps. When he discovered we were having a FaithCamp in Fresno, he decided to travel from San Diego to attend! He was blessed by the meetings and interested in the possibility of working for God.

So What’s Next?

For the FaithCamp speakers/missionaries:

All the missionaries are back in the mission field except for Gayle Haberkam, who is taking some time with her her sons and grandchildren–including her newborn grandson–before heading to Thailand.

Jonathan and Hannah Hill are planning to visit Cambodia soon to film the Howells, who are working with the Cambodia Boarding Academy project, and the Rogers, who are opening a new publishing house.

The Tengkanos are continuing to work on their TV ministry and center of influence. They also have a new, young volunteer and are starting to work on a new project (read more about that below).

For JFA:

We have been invited to have several FaithCamps in early 2023, in addition to the FaithCamps we are planning on doing next summer. We are still in the early planning stages, so please keep our event team in your prayers.

For you:

If you’re interested in missions:

In early 2023, we are planning an upcoming vision trip to Asia for those who want to learn more about life in the mission field. We are also planning a two-week evangelism trip to India in early 2023 during this same time. You can learn more about those trips here. Please email us at info@jesus4asia.org or call us at (423) 413-7321 to be added to our interest list.

If you missed FaithCamp:

You can watch recordings of all our FaithCamps on our YouTube Channel. Each of this year’s FaithCamps was a little different, so we invite you to check out all of them.

Thank you to all of you who attended FaithCamp or helped in any capacity.
