A Journey from Brokenness to Faith: Jenifer’s Path Back to Christ

For many years, Jenifer’s life was defined by career ambitions and a busy social life. Though raised in a Christian home, she found herself drifting from her faith as she focused on her success. But when hardships hit—first losing her job and then the passing of her father—Jenifer felt as if her life had crumbled. Feeling abandoned by God, she found her prayers were empty, and she wondered if anyone was truly listening.

One evening, an unexpected visit changed everything. Two Jesus for Asia Bible Workers arrived at her doorstep, offering to pray with her. Feeling tired and doubtful, Jenifer allowed them inside, thinking it would be a brief encounter. As they listened to her story and prayed, they shared Psalms 34:18: “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” These words stuck with her, reminding her of a love she had nearly forgotten. They also spoke of the parable of the lost sheep, emphasizing that Jesus never gives up on any of His children, no matter how far they have strayed. 

At that moment, Jenifer felt a presence she hadn’t experienced in years. This encounter marked the beginning of her journey back to Christ. She began to pray again, and the emptiness in her faith was gradually replaced with a sense of hope. With each passing day, her heart opened, and she realized that God had been with her all along, waiting patiently for her return.

As she rebuilt her life, Jenifer found a renewed purpose. The Bible studies and support from the JFA Bible Workers have guided her deeper into the Word, helping her understand the beauty of the Sabbath and the promises of God. Her once-broken spirit has been healed, and she now lives peacefully, knowing she is not alone.

Jenifer’s story is a beautiful reminder that no matter how far we feel from God, He is always near, waiting to embrace us with open arms. “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit” (Psalms 34:18). Through grace and never-ending love, God renews and restores, leading us back to Him one step at a time.
