Divine appointment in central Asia

A GLOW Tract in Russian, a commonly spoken language in Central Asia, much of which was part of the former Soviet Union.

Bob Clayton spent nine months last year teaching ESL classes in a Central Asian Country. He shared with us the following experience:

A lady heard about our ESL classes for the community and came to the school where I was living. She said she wanted to speak to the English teacher, the American. So they texted me, and I came down to the security guard's room, and we sat and talked for thirty minutes. She invited me and the student missionary from America who was with me to her home for a meal to get better acquainted. So the next week, we went. She is a semi-professional cook; she loves to entertain and loves to cook. She's got a kind heart, too. I learned she entertains people at her home for free. They come from Europe and other places, and she doesn't charge them any money for food or lodging for two or three days. Her husband is a dentist, and she's a pharmacist, so she has a slightly higher level of education than average.

Before we left, we gave her a GLOW tract. On the back, it had a link to a free Bible course, and about five days later, she texted me and said, "Thank you for giving me this piece of paper; I'm reading the Gospels now."

She's Muslim, not a serious, hardcore Muslim, but she's Muslim, and her husband is too. After that, I met with her and her husband a few times. We talked about many things. It was a pretty cool thing because, in this country, doing any kind of evangelism is difficult. It's over 90% Muslim, and so I thought this was a divine appointment, that she just showed up and wanted to talk to the American and then invited us to her home. So we're praying for her and her husband.

Praise God for opening the heart of this woman to learn about Jesus. Please join us in praying for this couple and others from Central Asia to whom God is trying to minister through His Holy Spirit.
